Knight in Shining Armor

     "Come on, Jake." Meg turned and called behind her. A little mumble came from the suit of armor. "No, no one will see you. No one we know at least."
     Jake groaned loudly and it echoed inside his metal prison. They had just arrived at the local park. Everybody who was anybody went there. He was totally screwed.  "Why did I make that bet? I should have known I would have lost to her." He thought inwardly to himself.
     Meg got impatient, and pulled at Jake's arm. "Ok, now stand there and just dance. Just dance, that's all." She whipped out a small camcorder from her pocket and Jake began quaking in his boots; literally.
     "You never said you'd videotape it!"
     "You never asked. Now, stand right there…good. Three…two…one…go!"
     Jake didn't move. He absolutely refused to. That's what he continued to tell himself.
     "No…not gonna do it."
     "Jake, come on! You lost the bet."
     "Yeah, because you cheated."
     "What? I did not. How can you cheat at something like that? Do I need to tell Matt about this?"
     Jake shook his head quickly. Matt was his best friend which meant he had full rights to make fun of Jake until the embarrassment nearly killed him. If he found out about the bet he had lost, Jake would never hear the end of it.
     "Alright then, so dance."
     "Meggggg!"
     "Just dance, dammit."
     Jake complied grudgingly. That was it. His pride was gone. No, it wasn't gone; it was destroyed mercilessly by the fiery, malicious being that was Meg Haughtly. His mind disobediently created an image of Meg laughing manically with a burning backdrop of orange flames. This of course, only tortured him further.
     "Come on, put some heart in it! Do Thriller!"
     Again, Jake complied even though on the inside he knew she would have the perfect blackmail for at least the next few years. She could always threaten him with the option of telling Matt. And who knows what she could do with the video itself.
     "Dawwww, you really are  my knight in shining armor!"
     Jake swallowed hard. Looks like he's gonna have some serious work ahead of him if he wants to save himself from any kind of embarrassment. May the ass-kissing begin.
